A Japanese college student who has assumed ownership of her grandfather's restaurant is gaining recognition for her resemblance to Minji from NewJeans.
A week ago, the YouTube channel SugoUma Japan introduced the story of two college girls who are running a small restaurant in Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture. The restaurant's granddaughter decided to keep the restaurant running after her grandfather passed away from cancer. Her friend joined her to help out with the business. The girls invented their unique dishes to revive the business and have been gaining popularity with their giant fried rice bowls.
This video has been garnering attention in Korea as well, and it's not because of the delicious fried rice dishes.
The restaurant's granddaughter has been at the center of attention among Korean online users for her stunning beauty and, in particular, her striking resemblance to NewJeans' Minji.
One Korean netizen explained, "I saw this video popup on my feed and I was so surprised so I'm sharing it here" and shared various captured photos on the post titled, "The Japanese Ramen restaurant owner who looks like NewJeans' Minji."
Korean netizens were also surprised by the resemblance and commented, "Wow, she's so pretty," " She does look like Minji," "She does give off the same vibe," "She looks more like Minji in the video than in still photos," "I thought it was Minji." "I was thinking 'How much would she look like Minji?' But when I clicked on this post to see the photo, I was so surprised," "She looks more like a celebrit than some Japanese celebrities, lol," "She kind of looks like Nana too," "So crazy," and "I don't think she looks like Minji but she is very pretty."
