YG Entertainment has taken action to bridge the cultural gap.
On September 13, YG Entertainment announced, "From the 21st to the 23rd of this month, we will hold 'Project Your Side' at the Y-STAR Gyeongsan Youth Creative Workshop in Gyeongsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do for three days."
The agency continued, "During this event, an exhibition space where visitors can experience various aspects of YG's popular culture content will be unveiled. It includes an album zone where visitors can see physical albums of YG artists, a costume zone where you can check out BLACKPINK's actual Coachella stage outfits, and a photo zone where you can create special memories with YG's mascot, Krunk."
In particular, the poster zone will showcase not only the artists' representative images but also special posters reinterpreted by 'special designers' with developmental disabilities from Key Muse Studio, adding more significance to the exhibition.
Furthermore, this year, YG auditions and audition special lectures (Q&A) will be conducted for the youth of Gyeongsan for the first time. Special programs such as singer Sean's talk concert and YGX dance workshops will also be provided.
These programs are open to anyone for free if they apply in advance through the Naver Happy Bean page.
'Project Your Side' is a new social contribution activity introduced after the renewal of the 'YG WITH Campaign.' It is planned to actively share the experience and opportunities of popular culture content concentrated in the metropolitan area with the local community under the new slogan 'LET NOBODY BE ALONE.'
In recognition of these efforts, YG received the 'Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Award' at the 2023 Cultural City Expo and International Conference.
YG has been promoting a culture of sharing through various large and small donations, ongoing volunteer activities, and social contribution projects since the start of the 'YG WITH Campaign' in 2009, spreading positive influence.
"It includes an album zone where visitors can see physical albums of YG artists,"
