South Korea's top vocal girl group has officially arrived.
On September 21 KST, KBS2 announced the launch of its new music reality, 'Golden Girls', premiering next month on October 27 at 10 PM KST.
The reality show brings together four of South Korea's living, female vocal legends - Insooni, Park Mi Kyung, Shin Hyo Bum, and Lee Eun Mi - as a newly formed vocal girl group, produced by J.Y. Park.
First, there's leader Insooni, a member of one the earliest K-Pop girl groups in history, the Hee Sisters. Next comes the "Dancing Diva" Park Mi Kyung and "South Korea's Whitney Houston", Shin Hyo Bum. The maknae of the group is vocal genius Lee Eun Mi, at 32-years into her debut.
The group's producer J.Y. Park noted, "This is the girl group of my dreams, the group I've always dreamt of creating. They will be the first of their kind in Korea."
Fans of the beloved KBS2 reality 'Sister's Slam Dunk' will love this new journey of passionate vocalists working together to form a true team in 'Golden Girls', coming soon!
"First of their kind in Korea?" I wonder what he'll have them performing.
Because I have yet to hear a "girl group" out of Korea who appealed to my ears more than these ladies. Big Mama gives me goosebumps and make me happy. You must check out their 'Killing Voice.' If JYP does better than them, then I have to👏 give it up to him.
