Netizens react to the amount of public labor and impact caused by false alarm on subway involving BTS fans

AKP STAFF

Netizens are expressing their disbelief over the recent disturbance on the Seoul Subway Line 9 near Sinnonhyeon Station.

As reported, the incident occurred on the night of August 6 when a large group of BTS fans unleashed a series of loud screams after watching a livestream of SUGA's tattoo, causing confusion among passengers and leading to rumors spreading that there was a 'stabbing' or a 'gas leak.'

Most of all, netizens were shocked to see the extent of manpower and labor dispatched to the scene. Emergency reports of screams and people running quickly prompted the arrival of police and firefighters. Although the reports turned out to be false, firefighters provided assistance to passengers who had fallen during the chaos. Out of the seven people injured, six were taken to a nearby hospital.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as terrifying, with people fleeing without knowing what was happening. Bags were left behind as people scrambled for safety, and one person from the scene even reported:

"I just started running because those in front of me started running. None of us really knew what was going on, but we were all in fear. People had to leave their bags, and I thought I was in 'Train To Busan' or something."

News reports revealed that all passengers on Line 9 were evacuated as the police searched for any individuals potentially carrying weapons. A total of 16 cars and 52 workers were dispatched to address the situation. Once the issue was resolved, passengers were allowed back on the trains, and subway services resumed

More reactions include:

"There were many shoes, bags, and personal items that were rolling on the ground in the subways"

"WHAT a disturbance!"

"I feel so bad for those laborers on this hot day"
"This is, like, a historical incident out of all fandom-related ruckus"
"Please...not in public places"
"I can't believe they shouted when there was literally a knife stabbing incident a few days ago"
"I am so mad that that many public workers had to be dispatched for THIS"
"Why are more people quiet over this issue than other BTS-related issue?"
"I can't believe this incident has made the news"

"I can't believe this happened just because of a tattoo"
"There are other times when ARMYs are praised for their actions but not all the time"
"A question of maturity..."

"Has no one learned public manners"
"And during such a hot season, too"
"I'm just relieved no one was actually hurt from this incident"

Except according to the fire department, the public services reacted to reports of a smell of gas, nothing to do with fans screaming. Afterwards it seems that people reported having symptoms (probably caused by their own minds, but still, nothing to do with fans).
