MONSTA X' Hyungwon is stepping down as the host of 'Inkigayo'.

On July 14, Starship Entertainment confirmed reports of Hyungwon's departure as an MC, revealing this week's episode of 'Inkigayo' on July 16 will be his last hosting the SBS music show. Hyungwon expressed, "I was happy to meet Monbebes and viewers every Sunday as an 'Inkigayo' MC. It was my first time hosting a music show, so I must have been lacking. However, thanks to the love and support I received from  you all, I was able to wrap up with only happy memories. Thank you."

He continued, "I'd like to thank my fellow 'Inkigayo' MC Kim Ji Eun and the other staff who worked hard together every week. I'll be saying goodbye as MC Hyungwon, but I'll be meeting you again soon through my unit promotions as Shownu x Hyungwon."

It's also reported Kim Ji Eun will be leaving the music show, but nothing has been confirmed. Hyungwon and Kim Ji Eun joined 'Inkigayo' as co-hosts this past April.

In other news, Hyungwon and Shownu are dropping their unit debut mini album 'The Unseen' on July 25 KST.
