iKON's Kim Jin Hwan will soon be the first member of his group to begin his mandatory military duties.
On July 7 KST, Kim Jin Hwan announced his enlistment plans with a letter dedicated to his fans. The idol wrote:
"I decided to write this letter because I felt that I had to tell you first, before anyone else.
I will begin my mandatory military service on July 20.
In truth, there are still many more projects that I had intended on showing you, and so I do feel some disappointment, but because I know that my fans who have been waiting for me will feel much more disappointed, I will save my words.
I promise to be back before you know it once I've fulfilled my duties diligently, so think of one another, have strength, and be well while I'm gone.
Thank you for always cheering me on right by my side, and I love you!"
Meanwhile, Kim Jin Hwan released part 1 of his 1st solo album, 'Paradise', last month on June 21. Part 2 'Blue Moon' was set to be released some time later in July. The idol also had plans to hold a Japan solo tour from July 24-28.
