It's been reported that the anticipated black comedy drama 'Queen of Tears', starring Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, will not air until 2024.
Initially, 'Queen of Tears' was expected to air on tvN as a Sat-Sun series some time in December of this year. However, tvN has shifted its Sat-Sun broadcast schedule with 'The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch' airing in the weekend time slot beginning on July 29; 'Arthdal Chronicles: Aramun's Sword' airing in September; 'Diva of the Deserted Island' airing in October; and 'Maestra' airing in December.
As a result, it's likely that 'Queen of Tears' will be pushed back until January of February of 2024, should the drama remain scheduled for tvN's Sat-Sun evening time slot.
Meanwhile, written by Park Ji Eun of 'My Love From the Star' and co-directed by Jang Young Woo of 'Crash Landing on You' and Kim Hee Won of 'Little Women', 'Queen of Tears' tells the comical, dramatic, and maybe even cynical story of a married couple - a lawyer and a chaebol daughter - who must work miracles to protect their family.
That's a shame, I've never seen Kim Soo Hyun in anything poor, he usually picks his dramas very well. I still get goosebumps thinking about his performance in One Ordinary Day, that was a drama right up there in quality with Mouse and Flower of Evil.
.
Even if it's marketed as a rom-com, which I don't normally like, I'll watch it if it has him in it.
