On June 6 KST, at the 68th Memorial Day ceremony held at the National Cemetery in Seoul, actor Kang Tae Oh delivered a moving and dignified presentation. This is a day where the people of South Korea commemorate and honor the soldiers who fought and sacrificed their lives for their country. Kang took the podium as a representative of the army and gave a commemorative presentation for '21 Memorandum' and conveyed his feelings.
Kang Tae Oh began his military service as an active duty soldier on September 20, 2020, by joining the 37th Division Recruit Training Center. He was selected as an assistant instructor at the boot camp and has continued his military service as a training assistant for new recruits. Despite the fact that his military service was revealed on the online community, Kang has performed his duties to the best of his ability, proving his patriotism as a Korean citizen.
During the ceremony, he shared the story of late Corporal Lee Hak Soo, a veteran of the Korean War who passed away in 2005. Kang Tae Oh read excerpts from the 'Soldier Memorandum' and presented a video, which touched many hearts. Standing in front of the camera for the first time in awhile, Kang Tae Oh looked more dignified. On his right chest, his real name, Kim Yun Hwan, was written, and on the left, he had attached the title of the Republic of Korea Army assistant. Through his presentation, he conveyed the moving heart of late Corporal Lee Hak Soo.
Meanwhile, Kang Tae Oh is scheduled to be discharged from the military in March of 2024.
