On March 31, Lee Seung Gi's agency Human Made released a road movie titled 'ENCORE - Sing Again', starring the singer/actor.
In this hour-long road movie, sponsored by 'Kolon Sports', Lee Seung Gi decided to capture the thoughts and feelings that he endured as he experienced some of the most immense changes of his life for about 4~5 months, around the time when the controversy surrounding his former agency Hook Entertainment surfaced at the end of 2022.
The singer/actor, who was in many ways gaslit to believe that he was not a "good enough" singer or performer by his former agency president, has decided to team up with his friends and music producers, Captain Planet, again to embark on a journey - a journey which will begin the second chapter of his career as a musician. Throughout the journey, Lee Seung Gi spent time traveling Korea with Captain Planet, sharing his thoughts with others and pouring those thoughts and feelings into new music.
The road movie also gave Lee Seung Gi a chance to open up to audiences about what he went through after he found out that his agency had withheld payments from music profits to not only him, but also those who helped produce his music.
In particular, over drinks with the road movie crew and Captain Planet, Lee Seung Gi fessed up about the toll that the stressful events had on his physical health. He said,
"When I had all those legal issues going on with the company, I was in the middle of filming a movie. See, in my mind, I never thought that I was stressed out to the point that I was going to die or anything like that. I thought I was handling it well, if I weren't, I probably wouldn't have been able to film a movie in the middle of it. But the body is an interesting thing, because it does not lie. For some reason, all of the stress accumulated in the back of my head. That part of my head broke out in these great red splotches. It was so red all over. But I was playing the role of a monk in the movie. So they had to cover the red splotches with makeup before I could shoot."
Additionally, Lee Seung Gi opened up about the internal strife that had weighed him down the most.
"It was a long relationship. All those years I spent with them, not all the moments were bad. There were good times, and that's why I stayed. But after what happened, what saddened me the most was when I realized, that I was beginning to question everything. All those good memories too, like the energy and the enthusiasm that I was shown during my rookie days, or even the affection I was shown, I began to question if all those good memories were just a part of the plan to get away with what they did."
However, staying resolute, Lee Seung Gi observed,
"But in some ways, I think that if I had not suffered these hardships, I would not value the happiness I feel in my life as I do now. It might have been an experience that I needed to endure, a trial for me to be truly happy. These days, I feel like I am living with a right-mind. I feel at peace, and I feel sure of myself."

I hope he heals properly from this nightmare. That agency and CEO deserve whatever karma has in store for them. I wish him all the success and happiness.
