SHINee's Key recently alluded to SM Entertainment's recent management rights dispute in a live broadcast promoting his new album.
On February 13 KST, the idol released his new repackage album 'Killer' and commemorated the release with fans through a live countdown broadcast via YouTube and TikTok. During the event, fans asked him if he was planning to have an encore solo concert, to which he gave an honest response.
"I don't know who to talk to for the encore concert. Who do I need to talk to [for it to happen]? I want to do the encore concert so bad...," he began, pausing with a somewhat frustrated sigh. "The company is going through a lot right now."
Meanwhile, SM's internal conflict over management rights is intensifying. HYBE Labels intends on acquiring up to 40% of total shares in SM Entertainment by March 1 with strong support from founder Lee Soo Man, setting its sights on obtaining significant control of SM Entertainment's operations. Lee Sung Soo and Tak Young Joon, co-CEOs of SM Entertainment, have since denounced the move as a 'hostile acquisition.'
