Kim Yuna's agency, All That Sports, announced recently that they will be taking legal action against the YouTubers and individuals who spread false rumors about Kim Yuna and her husband, Ko Woo Rim.
Kim Yuna's management company began by stating, "Recently, fake news related to Kim Yuna and her husband has been continuously uploaded and circulated through YouTube."
All That Sports continued, "We will take strict legal action against the YouTubers and distributors of the false information and fake news bringing defamation to Kim Yuna and her husband."
Regarding the recent rapid spread of severe false news, such as affair rumors and divorce rumors related to Kim Yuna and Ko Woo Rim, All That Sports stated, "Fake news is spreading like poison targeting celebrities as well as sports stars with the excuse it is an act of freedom of speech. However, the spread of this false information is not an exercise in freedom of expression but a crime, and it is an evil act that corrodes our society."
In addition, the agency continued to state, "If fake news continues to be mass produced and spread widely, the victims would not only be the celebrities in our society but also the ordinary citizens. This is an issue that we all need to take action against so that it can be eradicated through this opportunity."
Meanwhile, Kim Yuna and Ko Woo Rim started their relationship in 2018, and after dating for about three years, they tied the know in October of last year.
Good for them! Cyberbullying and defamation is abusing freedom of speech. More celebrities should take action rather remaining as victims.
