It has been revealed that actor Yoo Ah In was investigated by the police for habitual use of propofol, a psychotropic drug.
Yoo Ah In's agency UAA stated in a press release on the afternoon of February 8 that "Yoo Ah In was recently investigated by the police regarding propofol."
The agency continued to state, "We are actively cooperating with all investigations related to this, and we will actively explain any parts that are of issue. We apologize for causing concern."
Earlier in the afternoon on the same day, TV Chosun's News 9 reported that a top male movie star in Korea was investigated by the police for habitual use of propofol. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency summoned and investigated Yoo Ah In on February 6 for violating the Narcotics Control Act.
In particular, many were shocked as the police banned Yoo Ah In from leaving the country. The police are currently requesting an evaluation of Yoo Ah In's hair from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation to check whether he habitually used propofol.
He's a fantastic actor to say the least. Personally, I don't care if he uses or not, a lot of artistic people do. I can only guess that he has a pretty stressful occupation on top of the rumors, regarding his personal life, which in no way is an excuse, of course. Still, I'm always looking forward for his next project. There's something mystical and special about him, which makes him a really, really good actor.
