Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, has now earned his first ever 'Daesang' or grand prize nomination before officially debuting as a soloist or collaborating with an established solo artist.
On October 24, Mnet revealed the nominees for this year's 'Mnet Asian Music Awards.' Taehyung's OST 'Christmas Tree' from the K-drama series 'Our Beloved Summer' was nominated in both the 'Best OST' category and the 'Song of the Year' category.
While Taehyung has many 'Daesang' wins as a member of BTS, his 'Song of the Year' nomination marks his first ever 'Daesang' nomination as a soloist. And he achieved it before releasing his debut album.
In the live broadcast, MNET also highlighted 'Christmas Tree's impressive achievement for being the first Korean OST in history to enter Billboard's 'HOT 100' chart.
Thanks to the three OSTs he has released, Taehyung has already accumulated multiple nominations and wins before releasing any album.
In 2020, 'Sweet Night,' his OST for 'Itaewon Class' won 'Best OST' for the 'APAN Star Awards,' while his first OST 'It's Definitely You' for the series 'Hwarang' was nominated for 'Best OST' in 2017 for 'Melon Music Awards.'
Fans expressed pride at Taehyung's accomplishments on social media. People are eagerly anticipating Taehyung's debut album, which is bound to break more records.
he did that without a solo debut and with a unpromoted ost ! his power is insane can't wait for his solo debut
