The Korean fashion scene, spearheaded by fashion brand UL:KIN and Isu Group and modeled by iKON member Kim Donghyuk introduces upcycled clothes and bags at the '2023 S/S New York Fashion Week.'
The recently concluded 'New York Fashion Week Concept Korea Spring/Summer 2023' fashion show receives praise for bringing upcycled fashion products to the New York runway. Isu Group, in collaboration with known sustainable fashion brand UL:KIN, debuted bags made by upcycling protection net used at construction sites which include tote bags, hobo handbags, and backpacks.
UL:KIN's New York fashion show comes with a theme, "Magnet Fishing," a kind of fishing that catches garbage in the water. The eco-friendly fashion brand debuts looks inspired by fishing and camping while also carrying upcycling, which the brand has been doing for years. iKON's Donghyuk took part in the event as a special model for the brand.
This is not the first time the K-POP idol has taken part in an environmental campaign. Last year, Donghyuk starred on a radio program as a DJ that promotes environmental sustainability, especially in the K-POP scene. Throughout the radio show, Donghyuk inspired fans to care about the environment. There was also an episode dedicated to sustainable fashion, which seems like a continuation of today's event.
