On August 19, BLACKPINK made their long-awaited comeback with “Pink Venom,” which has topped music charts around the world since its release, and its music video has also broken records on YouTube, Spotify, and other platforms.
“Pink Venom” amassed 7,937,046 streams on its first day alone, making Spotify history as its impressive debut reached No. 1 on Spotify's Global Top Songs chart, becoming the first Korean song to top the chart; not only that, as BLACKPINK is now the first and only girl group from any country to reach No. 1 on that chart.
BLACKPINK's new hit also surpassed Beyoncé's “BREAK MY SOUL” (5.145 million streams), setting a new record for the highest single-day streams achieved by any song in 2022
BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom" also scored another impressive record by becoming the biggest Spotify debut of any song by a female artist released so far this decade (the 2020s) after surpassing Taylor Swift's 2020 hit. "Cardigan" (7.742 million views).
It also surpassed BTS's Dynamite (7.78M), an English-released song that reached #1 on the Spotify Global Daily Chart in 2020, with BLACKPINK and BTS now the only Asian artists to do so.
Congratulations BLACKPINK!
