On June 28, Art Basel released the latest episode of its podcast 'Intersections,' where they invite various individuals to talk about art.
On this day, BTS's leader RM spoke with Art Basel and shared his love for art. RM has been well known for his passion for art as he has often been spotted in various art museums and galleries, as well as showing off his personal collection on social media.
During this podcast, RM shared about the first art piece that he had purchased and also about his future plans. RM revealed that he is actually planning to open a small exhibit where he can display his own private collection. He explained that he feels that people in Korea are not given many opportunities to come across art pieces because of the lack of art galleries.
He elaborated, "This is the first time I am saying this, but, seriously, I am planning to make a small of my own private collection. And maybe, just a cafe on the first floor, and set up my collection on the second and third floor. So, people could always see the collections when they just want to see them."
He continued to say, "When people come to Korea - It happens for the Koreans too - we cannot see the great Korean artists because there are not many museums right now, there are not many galleries right now (in Korea). So I want to make my own sometime."
Meanwhile, BTS recently announced that they will enter a hiatus on group activities so that the members can recharge from their restless promotions and also concentrate on individual activities. J-Hope is the first member to start off solo activities as he will be releasing his first solo album in the coming month.
I’m so happy to see RM getting the time to share something he is so passionate about!
