GOT7 are making history as the 7 members have reportedly received all the trademark rights for the group.
According to fans, leader Jay B previously moved trademark rights for the group to his own label 528Hz, including rights for album production, light sticks, live performances, and more. It was then revealed he obtained the rights to GOT7's unit names, which he shares ownership with his fellow members.
As of May 12, reports say the 7 GOT7 members are the owners for the full trademark rights for the group. If reports are true, GOT7 are the first ever K-pop group to transfer all trademark rights to the members themselves.
Stay tuned for updates on GOT7.

I really hope that this is not false information. It would be a huge step towards recognizing groups as the sum of their members and not just property of their agencies. Members change and dreams change, but being a part of a group or band will always be a part of every idols journey. Not being allowed to identify with such a big part of their lifes is stupid. At least JYP doesn't seem to be petty here. Like other companies are. Yes SM, I'm looking at you.
