It has been confirmed that IU was preparing her '2022 Concert' that was supposed to take place at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium.
On February 22, Wikitree checked the 'Seoul Information Communication Plaza,' an information disclosure system in Seoul, and confirmed that IU had canceled her concert that was scheduled for this year.
The Seoul Sports Facility Management Office, the agency in charge, posted an official notice 'Cancellation of approval for the use of Jamsil Olympic Stadium and refund of usage fees (2022 IU Concert).'
In the official document, the Seoul Sports Facility Management Office stated, “Article 11(4) of the Ordinance on the Installation and Operation of Sports Facilities in Seoul (Return of Fees). Due to unavoidable reasons such as natural disasters, games or events were not held because the use of the facilities became impossible. If it is not possible, the entire usage fee and admission fee will be refunded.”
An official from the Seoul Sports Facility Management Office said to Wikitree on the same day, "The request from them (IU's side) came in and we took care of the administrative process."
According to this, IU was preparing for the '2022 concert' at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul, but it seems to have been canceled in consideration of the current severity of the COVID-19 outbreak in Korea.
Until recently, IU did not publicly reveal the plans for the '2022 concert,' therefore, the fans were also not aware of the details of the concert.
Wikitree requested a response in regards to this to IU's agency, Edam Entertainment, but did not receive a response.
With the numerous covid cases that have been more and more frequent recently, I really do think this is the right move.
