On February 12, HaHa's agency Quan Entertainment officially confirmed that the star's PCR test results for COVID-19 have returned positive.

According to Quan, "Back on February 9, HaHa underwent a self-test kit test and his results were negative, but on the afternoon of February 10 he began experiencing a slight fever. As a result, he cancelled all of his schedules for the day and began to quarantine. On February 11, he took another rapid test and his result returned positive, and so he also underwent a PCR test. On February 12, HaHa's PCR test results returned positive. HaHa has so far completed his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and he will be halting his activities temporarily while following the orders of the healthcare authorities. We promise to do our best toward HaHa's speedy treatment and recovery, and to follow all disease prevention guidelines closely for the health and safety of all artists and staff."
