Industry insiders are wondering why Big Bang will not be attending 'Coachella 2022'.
On January 12 EST, the biggest music festival in the world 'Coachella' confirmed its return in 2022 for the first time in 2 years. This year, the festival will take place from April 15-17 and from April 22-24, headlined by Harry Styles, BIllie Eilish, Ye, and more.
Previously, Big Bang made headlines in early 2020 after YG Entertainment confirmed that the group would be making their long-awaited comeback at 'Coachella 2020'. However, due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, 'Coachella 2020' was postponed, then eventually cancelled for the last 2 years.
Now, 'Coachella' is finally back, but unfortunately, without Big Bang. Fellow K-Pop artists Epik High, who were listed on the cancelled 'Coachella 2020' lineup, will be returning to 'Coachella 2022'. But the upgraded 2022 lineup did not include Big Bang.
So far, YG Entertainment has yet to respond to inquiries regarding Big Bang's plans for a comeback in 2022.
Considering Taeyang just had a baby, I doubt he would leave his newborn baby to go to California, perform, come back and do quarantine away from his baby.
