On January 6, Big Hit Music confirmed with various media outlets that plans for BTS to fly to the U.S. have been cancelled.
Earlier on January 5 EST, the U.S. Recording Academy announced that the '64th Grammy Awards' have been postponed indefinitely once again, due to the spread of COVID-19's Omicron variant across the country. Initially, the Grammys were scheduled to take place on January 31 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Currently nominated for 'Best Pop Duo or Group Performance' at the '64th Grammy Awards', the members of BTS were scheduled to resume official activities after a 2-month break by attending the award ceremony later this month. However, a representative of Big Hit Music has now confirmed, "BTS had planned to attend 'The Grammy Awards', but after being informed of the ceremony's postponement, we have halted all plans for the group to head to the U.S."
The representative further told media outlets, "There are currently no schedule changes to BTS's upcoming Seoul concert in March." So far, the group's 'Permission To Dance On Stage - Seoul' concert, set to take place in March, is the team's only confirmed schedule in 2022.
Meanwhile, BTS plan to release a new album and kickstart a new chapter in their careers some time in 2022.
