Big Hit Music has now officially confirmed the cancellation of all dates for BTS's '2020 Map of the Soul' world tour, previously postponed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The agency stated on August 20, "Due to changing circumstances beyond our control, it has become difficult to resume performances at the same scale and timeline as previously planned. Therefore we must announce the cancellation of the 'BTS Map of the Soul Tour'."
Big Hit Music continued, "The tour's concerts in Seoul were previously cancelled in February of last year, followed by the postponement of the North American leg in March; dates in Europe and Japan were postponed prior to the start of ticket sales in those regions. We regret that we must now inform you of the formal cancellation of the tour. For fans who have reserved tickets for the North American shows, you will receive an email from your original point of purchase regarding refunds."
Finally, Big Hit Music assured fans that they were currently working on "a viable schedule and performance format that can meet your expectations", and updates will be provided as soon as possible.
Will you be looking forward to other alternative concert options for the rest of 2021?
Hurts a lot for those who hope to see them in person. But, this is probably more heartbreaking to the boys than to ARMY. as they've said many many times how they miss performing live. Nevertheless, thank God for streaming platforms!
