McJimin becomes an internet sensation following the launch of McDonald's #BTSMeal

McDonald's officially launched the BTS Meal on Wednesday, May 26, as part of their collaboration with superstar group BTS.
The meal is composed of 10 chicken nuggets, medium fries, a medium-sized coke, and 2 sauces: Sweet Chili and Cajun. The sauces are special in that they are time-limited and picked by BTS with inspiration from McDonald's South Korea.
Therefore, fans who had eagerly been waiting to get their hands on the delicious treats rushed to their respective McDonald's restaurants, braving long lines in order not to miss out. And this is how the McJimin phenomenon was born. ARMY discovered that among those who went to buy the meal, there were non-fans (locals) who knew about Jimin, and as a result, the McDonald's BTS Meal became the McJimin.
In a Tiktok video, a man is seen talking about getting his McJimin. Another one amused the ARMY more when he said, "I just went to McDonald's to get the BTS meal bro can't wait to taste what Jimin tastes like."
This sparked a wave of #McJimin on Tiktok by users, a party that found its way on Twitter as well. Fans were excited, and their reactions are hilarious and relatable, hinting at Jimin's immense popularity.
On TikTok, the hashtag now has more than 200K views as it continues to be used on the platform.
The episode also reminded fans of a time in 2016 when rapper BadVibes created the Jimin freestyle, which goes, “I never watched K-pop before but I heard about Jimin,” a song that is even uploaded on SoundCloud and went on to receive over 300k listens.
Park Jimin may be the lead vocalist and main dancer of BTS, but it is also evident that his impact further transcends the KPOP scene. He is always catching the attention of new people with his wonderful personality, angelic visuals, honey vocals, and mesmerizing performances.
