If you are like me, maybe you originally listened to much rock music and Japanese music prior to finding K-Pop, or maybe you just love heavy guitars in your music. Either way, this list is for you!
Here are some catchy tunes that incorporate rock elements smoothly to get you jamming!
Kim Heechul (ft. TRAX’s Jung Mo Kim) – “Close Ur Mouth”
Kim Heechul paired up with TRAX’s Kim Jung Mo to form “M&D,” which stands for “Midnight and Dawn.” The duo picked rock as their signature style and released a fair share of songs where they showed off their talent. To take you back to where it all started, check out their first-ever single, “Close Ur Mouth." Together they would set a standard for idols starting side projects not fitting the style of music of their main groups.
Younha – “Dark Cloud
Younha is no stranger to rock. The genre heavily influences her music, and so much so to the point, her signature sound is a mix of piano rock & powerful pop ballads remising of Celine Dion that she has carried with her since her debut.
Suho's – “Let’s Love”
Suho brings laid-back rock music to the table in his debut release as a solo artist. In his title track, “Let’s Love,” he sends us on an emotional journey with silky vocals along a soft rock instrumental that pulls at the heartstrings heavily.
G-Dragon's – “Crooked”
G-Dragon has explored many concepts throughout the years, and rock is no exception. In fact, this genre seems to be one he likes to return to frequently.
Sunggyu's – “60 Sec”
This is an interesting case as this artist started in rock music as when he was in high school, he was part of a rock band called Coma Beat. The origins of his music would follow him throughout his career and lead to this impactful song hitting our playlists.
BTS – “Boy In Luv”
Probably the most well-known on this list, RM, Suga, and J-Hope have never strayed away from rock influence in their production and songwriting, and they continued to showcase their rock love through even their most recent release, BE.
Dreamcatcher - "Diamond"
To be honest, Dreamcatcher's entire discography could fill this list, but today we chose their B-Side Diamond. This was chosen because it smacks you with a sound that reminds us of the good parts of the Nu-Metal genre in rock music, giving very female Linkin Park vibes in the best way possible.

Dreamcatcher is the best. They don't get the appreciation they deserve.
