Park Jimin, the main dancer and lead singer of BTS, celebrated his 25th birthday back on October 13. While the whole world celebrated his birthday with much fan and fare, Indian armys made sure to make his birthday special with various memorable events and achievements.
Even before his birthday started, Jimin had already taken over India's Twitter trends. By the time of his birthday, he was dominating the trends by occupying 14 out of 30 spots.
Republic World, a leading news outlet of India, talked about how Jimin took over Twitter trends despite various other events going on in India at the same time.
As the birthday progressed, so did the celebrations. Armys gifted Jimin's solo song from Wings album, Lie, a #1 on India iTunes.
Various leading entertainment channels of India, like Sony Music India & 9XOIndia, wished Jimin a happy birthday. Vh1India, India's major music channel, played various BTS songs as part of its Birthday Bumps for Jimin.
Jimin's popularity is rising amongst Indian media. His talent is widely recognized, and his name is turning into a common occurrence in Indian news publications. The Times of India, India's 3rd widest circulated English daily, praised Jimin's fine dance performance on Filter in BTS's recent virtual concert. Another Indian English daily, Hindustan Times wished Jimin a happy birthday, and a popular Indian regional newspaper from Kerala, Malayalam Manorama (with a readership of 20 million), celebrated Jimin's birthday, and the group's Billboards win as well as praised Jimin's suave choreography and caramel-like vocals in Filter. Pinkvilla could not stop gushing over Jimin's Filter and Black Swan choreography.
These celebrations are nothing in front of the noble way in which Indian armys decided to follow Jimin's footsteps and carry out an act of kindness on his birthday. Several fanbases and individuals organized different kinds of charities that ranged from issues like helping acid attack victims to children's education to LGBTQ. The charities saw an overwhelmingly positive response.
Apart from this, the streams of Jimin's solo from MoTS:7 album of the group saw an accelerated increase. The song re-entered India Spotify's Top 100 chart, an achievement in itself as the song is months old. The song has been staying in the Top 100 from 11-12th October 2020
To wrap this piece, we would only say that Park Jimin is a force to reckon with in India at the moment. His popularity is an acknowledgment of how true art and talent will always be recognized no matter where you go. We hope to see him getting even more achievements in India as well worldwide.
Happy Birthday Jimin! So happy so many fans from all over the world wished you a very happy birthday. I hope we all continue to shower him with love and appreciation everyday. #JIMIN
