On October 15^th, Lo Mas Escuchado, an Uruguayan entertainment portal, officially announced the winner of this year’s #FandomCup and it is none other than South Korea’s pride and Top Idol Park Jimin, a member of world’s top boyband, BTS.

BTS Jimin emerged as the grand winner for 2020 and received more than 50,000 votes combined from Twitter and Instagram. Jimin is the first and only South Korean to win since it started in 2016. There were 100 internationally-known artists who vied for the crown this year including Harry Styles, former champion & CNCO member Joel Pimentel, Zabdiel De Jesus, etc. The voting for the #FandomCup was opened worldwide to Twitter and Instagram users.

Lo Mas Escuchado posted the #FandomCup rules on their website. The Cup was divided into two phases. It started from the preliminary round wherein 100 artists who gathered most nominations from social networks were selected as official candidates. A survey was opened accessible worldwide from July 11 to August 1. Then, the 32 most voted from this first phase passed to the second round while the rest were eliminated. The succeeding phase took place on Twitter and Instagram.

During the preliminaries, Jimin outvoted Adexe. Jimin then went head-on against 2018 champion Joel Pimentel. Thereafter, he faced Zabdiel in another battle and succeeded. Consequently, Jimin reached the Semi-Final round against Christ. Finally, he competed against One Direction’s Harry Styles in the final round.

Furthermore, Lo Mas Eschucado also announced that the final round between Jimin and Harry Styles is the most voted battle of the entire cup this year, worthy to be in the final stage. Jimin through the all-out support of the fans managed to eliminate all his rivals and become the King of the #FandomCup of 2020.
