At the 34th Golden Disk Awards on January 4th, Jennie was awarded her first Bonsang for her chart-topping single ‘SOLO’!
‘SOLO’ was produced by Teddy and 24, and was released on November 12th of 2018. ‘SOLO’ debuted at No. 1 on Gaon’s digital and streaming charts, which it held the first spot for two consecutive weeks. Within 24 hours of its debut, ‘SOLO’ became the most viewed music video by a female K-Pop solo artist. ‘SOLO’ held the No. 1 spot on Billboards World Digital Song Sales Chart for a week. ‘SOLO’ topped the iTunes Charts in 40 different countries, making Jennie the first female K-Pop artist to do so. On June 6th of 2019, ‘SOLO’ was certified Platinum by Gaon for surpassing 100 Million streams.
Jennie was not able to accept the award in person, due to BLACKPINK performing at day one of their two day sold-out Kyocera dome concert in Osaka at the time of the awards show.
Congratulations to Jennie! We love to see strong women winning! BLINKs fighting!
