'MAMA' is still trying to figure out where to hold this year's event, and netizens have shared their reactions. 

According to officials, they're running into issues booking a venue because of the ongoing Japan-Korea boycott and well as the continuous riots in Hong Kong.

A CJENM official spoke to the media and said, "Because of the continuous protests and riots with police in Hong Kong, it's highly unlikely that Hong Kong will be selected as a venue this year. We're looking into other venues in various regions of Asia."

Every year 'MAMA' has announced the venues for the event in August. Even though there's only four months left until the ceremony, it appears that there's a lot that still needs to be done including determining nominees, awards, as well as determining the event venue(s).

Last year, 'MAMA' was held in Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong on December 10, 12, and 14.
