Twice, BTS, Monsta X have occupied No.1 on K-pop chart in the first half of 2019 published by Tower Records of Japan.
On the afternoon of July 4, Tower Records announced the rankings of disc sales in the first half of 2019 via an article on its homepage. Tower Records selected Top 10 of 3 categories namely album, single, and imported album.
With the album "#TWICE2", Twice is the K-pop act to have the highest disc sale in the first half of 2019 in Japan. On the imported album chart, the group has also proved their exceptional popularity when claiming No.2 with the mini-album vol.7 "Fancy You" and No.8 with the special album "The Year of Yes" dropped in 2018.
BTS clinched No.1 on the imported album chart with mini-album vol.6 "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA" released in Korea. Tower Records introduced BTS with global popularity and said, "The group has dominated No.1 nationwide for 3 years in a row."
Monsta X has displayed their outstanding activity on the single chart. First and second spots respectively belonged to "Shoot Out" and "Alligator" of the group. It can be said that Monsta X is monopolizing the single chart summarizing the first half of this year when releasing products in March and June. The boys also climbed to No.9 on the imported album chart with the album "WE ARE HERE".
Top 10 of the K-pop Album Summary Chart included Twice, GOT7, NCT 127, SF9, Oh My Girl, Taeyeon, Yesung (Super Junior), Boyfriend, Astro, Jus2. In the Top 10 of Single Chart, Monsta X took No.1 and No.2 positions, followed by Snuper, Pentagon, IZone, Park Bo Gum, Jun (U-Kiss), Mamamoo, Dream Catcher, Onewe.
