Back on May 1, stars attended the 55th annual 'Baeksang Arts Awards' at Seoul's COEX, to celebrate dramas, varieties, and films of 2018.
On this day, the honor of the 'Best Male Variety Performer' went to announcer Jun Hyun Moo for his appearance on MBC's 'I Live Alone'. After accepting the award trophy, Jung Hyun Moo introduced himself as, "The former president of the Rainbow Association".
Rather than showing his joy at receiving the award, Jun Hyun Moo maintained a calm demeanor. He went on to give his speech by saying, "I have always been greedy for awards whenever I've been to award ceremonies, but today, I did not feel that way. Because I am currently not a part of 'I Live Alone'."
He continued, "When receiving an award, you're normally happy, but there's never been a day that I've felt more apologetic and heavy at heart. Seeing Park Na Rae-sshi here today, I'm incredibly thankful and sorry. Thank you for leading the 'I Live Alone' team even better, when I'm not there. And not just Park Na Rae, but I'm thankful toward Henry, Gian84, Lee Si un, and Sung Hoon for working hard to lead the program. I am monitoring the show more diligently than ever. I've always been the type to congratulate myself on a job well done if I received an award, but today, this honor goes to Park Na Rae and the rest of the Rainbow Association members."
Previously, Jun Hyun Moo announced a temporary departure from 'I Live Alone' in Mach of this year, after breaking up with fellow cast member Han Hye Jin. Meanwhile, the 'Best Female Variety Performer' award went to Lee Young Ja for her appearance in 'Point of Omniscient Interference'.
