On April 22, SM Entertainment announced BoA exercised the option to purchase an additional 7,000 shares. This increased her shares in the company from 0.01% to 0.04%.
BoA's option price was 23,251 KRW (20.40 USD) per share and with a closing price of 41,450 KRW (36.36 USD) on April 22 KST, BoA has gained 127 million KRW (111,400 USD) in marginal profits.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service’s Data Analysis, Retrieval, and Transfer System, BoA revealed to be holding 680 shares at the time she was appointed the director of SM Entertainment in 2016. Last April, she executed an exercise option for 10,000 shares in SM at a price of 35,587 KRW (31.13 USD) per share. In September and November of the same year, BoA sold 9,000 and 5,000 shares, respectively. SM Entertainment stock was trading at around 50,000 KRW (43.72 USD) per share at the time she sold in September and around 55,000 KRW (48.12 USD) per share at the time she sold in November.
Good on her.
Though she technically only owns 0.04% of SM, it shows she's sharp as a knife when it comes to keeping herself solvent and focused (because the world of entertainment can be a fleeting thing).
