Jung Joon Young's home has reportedly been searched by police, and F.T. Island's Jonghun will officially be undergoing investigation for hidden camera suspicions and an alleged DUI cover-up.
According to reports on March 15, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Special Detective Division received search and seizure warrants to investigate Jung Joon Young and 'Burning Sun' club employee Mr. Kim's places of residences as both were members of Jung Joon Young and Seungri's controversial chatroom. Mr. Kim is accused of setting up hidden cameras that filmed unsuspecting victims of sex tapes that were then circulated in the chatroom. After a 21-hour questioning session, police searched Jung Joon Young's homes, and his past 3 cell phones are undergoing a forensic investigation.
Jonghun is also set to be investigated as a suspect for involvement in sharing illegal hidden camera photos and footage by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Special Detective Division as well as for an alleged cover-up by police for a DUI in 2016. The lieutenant connected to his cover-up has already undergone questioning, but the results have yet to be revealed. He'll be working at another police station until the case is cleared. Another police officer who worked alongside the lieutenant stated, "A higher-up did not say, 'Make sure the news doesn't get out,' at the time or pressure us to stay quote," while other officers commented, "Most celebrity DUI cases go out to the press, so it's odd Jonghun's case was not reported."
In related news, Jonghun has announced his withdrawal from F.T. Island and his retirement from the entertainment industry.
