They are numerous K-pop music shows that air weekly. You might not be able to watch all of them every week but 'The Show' is more unique (for example, it also gives screentime to lesser-known artists). There are numerous reasons to watch it but here are 6 reasons that I picked to watch 'The Show'.
1) They have amazing camera work!
'The Show' has many unique stages of an Idol's comeback songs and they sometimes perform it in a way that fans have never seen it.
2) Many Idols get their first win on 'The Show'!
It's always a great achievement for a group or solo artist to achieve their first win and on 'The Show', we see it happen quite often! Recently ASTRO got their first win for "All Night" and they got emotional thanking their fans for their hard work. CLC, who is the girl group who took the longest time to get their first win also got their first win, and second win, on 'The Show' with their latest comeback "No." The artists get quite emotional and thank those that have been by their side for all these years!
3) You get not only show the performance videos of idols but also features special clips of what goes on behind the scene!
Not only do we get to see our favorite groups performing their latest comebacks, but we also get to see them do cute tasks like this. 'The Show' is definitely the go-to music show if you want to see your biases do fanservice and answer some of your most thought about questions!
4) They allow live voting from all around the world via their app! This means international fans get a chance to play a strong part in voting for their favorites!
Available in both the iOS App Store and Google Play Store, the Starpass app can be downloaded by both iOS and Android users for fans to vote for their top choice of the week. Being the first music show in Korea that allows international fans to vote, this is a great reason why we should watch it and show support to our idols by voting for them via the app! The app allows not only pre-show voting but also takes into account live voting when the actual show is actually going on.
5) It is one of the most internationally recognized music shows in Korea! Winners of 'The Show' have been put up on billboards even in New York's Time Square, showing how big the impact of 'The Show' really is!
One example would be (G)I-DLE won and was featured prominently in New York's world-famous Times Square.
6) If you are an International Fan living in Southeast Asia, you can watch it on live simulcast with English subtitles on MTVAsia!
MTVAsia has just recently announced that they will be starting to air a live telecast show within the Southeast Asian region.
'The Show' showcases the biggest names in K-pop and airs live on Tuesday, at 4pm (WIB, VN), 5pm (PH, SG) and 6pm (MY). Catch the replay on Saturday at 10am (WIB, VN), 11am (PH, SG) and on Sunday, 12am (MY).
3) Except that this video is the behind of Show Champion and not The Show lol. I would talk about their game segment instead, some of them are pretty fun
