On January 24, J.Y. Park attended the press conference for his upcoming Mnet reality program, 'Super Intern'!
During the press conference, J.Y. Park reminisced the beginnings of the current agency known as JYP Entertainment. "It's been 20 years since I started the company. At first, there were 3 employees. Me, Bang Si Hyuk, and the accountant. Now, we have about 300 employees. Whenever we had needs, the right individuals came along and helped us. Back then, if those individuals were from big universities with a specialty in cramming-style learning, they would not have been fit for the jobs at hand."
The singer/producer then continued, "The key to becoming a successful employee at JYP is to have a crazy, ridiculous imagination, and waste your youth away crazy about singers and musicians... As more people applied for employment at our company, our method of hiring began to resemble more generic methods. I felt that if this continued, the employees we truly needed would not get hired. I will do my best to revise our company's current hiring system."
Meanwhile, 'Super Intern' details the process of real jobseekers submitting applications for a chance to work as an intern at JYP Entertainment. J.Y. Park himself presides over the entire application process, without considering age, gender, education, or certification, but only passion and vision. 13 interns will be chosen to experience a hands-on, 6-week internship working on stage, backstage, on filming sets, and more. The show premieres on January 24 at 8 PM KST.
to some haters here in the comments. JYP is a great CEO and really is a good example on how to lead an entertainment company. I am really impressed with his speech about JYP 2.0 which you can watch on youtube (for investors)
You can't say much about Bang Si Hyuk. His company went almost bankrupt and BTS saved it. We will see how the company involves the next years but I have a good feeling with TXT so far. They need to debut more artist in the future.
Also don't be so smart here, start a company by your own and try to make money and manage so many people under you. Thats a lot of responsibility, passion and vision as well. Also every good company can find itself in bad situations.
