The auditions, which will be held by the company's JYP Publishing section, will be held roughly every six months and will seek out songwriters who have skills in every step of the process, including tracks, melodies, and lyrics. They will also make online auditions available on the 25th of every month via the JYP Publishing homepage.
In an official announcement about the auditions, JYP Entertainment has stated that they are focusing specifically on talent and will not be considering level of education, age, or work experience when recruiting. Top picks may also receive prize money for their submissions.
The current submission period runs until October 18, where they will be requesting one female idol song and one male idol song from each songwriting hopeful.
