Webtoon artist and creator Kee Maeng Kee shared how excited she was for the JTBC drama remake of her work, as well as details about her thorough participation in the production.
JTBC will be remaking popular webtoon 'My ID is Gangnam Beauty', written by Kee Maeng Kee, beginning this July 27 at 11 PM KST. About the drama's upcoming premiere, Kee Maeng Kee said, "Above all, I was thankful for the drama staff's desire to project the themes from my original work into the drama. I am waiting for the drama's premiere with a fluttering heart."
How much is Kee Maeng Kee participating in the drama version of 'My ID is Gangnam Beauty'? She shared, "Currently, the drama's scriptwriter is sending me completed scripts per each episode, and I read it through and suggest changes or commentary." Furthermore, the webtoon artist could not hide her excitement at the fact that actress Lim Soo Hyang was cast for the role of the female lead, Kang Mi Rae. Lim Soo Hyang was named by many readers of 'My ID is Gangnam Beauty' as the #1 fit for Kang Mi Rae's role. "I am thankful that she said yes to the offer, even though the role of a plastic beauty can be burdensome. When I saw her facial expressions in the lecture hall, she was literally M Rae. I loved the scene so much that it is currently my profile picture," the webtoon artist relayed.
Regarding ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo in the role of the male lead Do Kyung Suk, Kee Maeng Kee said, "I asked the staff continuously to cast an undeniably handsome actor for Kyung Suk, and I was happy it came true. When I watched the teaser, it seemed like Cha Eun Woo's Do Kyung Suk was even more attractive than my Do Kyung Suk."
