A horrible car accident has occurred in front of Gimhae International Airport, leaving a taxi driver in critical condition.
On July 10, 12:50 PM KST, a driver and a passenger sitting in the front seat were accelerating up a highway to the 2nd level ramp in a BMW. Even as they approached the airport, they did not reduce the high speed at which they were going.

The dashcam recorded the front seat passenger saying, "Awesome!!" when initially accelerating and "Watch out for the corner!" when the vehicle reached a sharp corner on the highway. However, even when the driver reached the corner, he did not slow down. While continuing to accelerate, the BMW eventually collided directly into a taxi driver who was trying to enter into his vehicle.
The BMW, as well as the taxi, sustained heavy damage. The taxi driver was rushed to a nearby hospital immediately after the accident and he is in critical condition.
Police have charged the 35-year-old driver Mr. Jung with an unspecified sentence, and are currently investigating how fast the vehicle was going at the time of the accident.
