A woman who scammed fans with fake Wanna One concert tickets received her sentence.
On June 7, the court ruled 10 months of penal servitude, 2 years of probation, and 120 hours of community service to the 21-year-old woman for the scam.
From September 14 to November 26, 2017, the young woman made posts on Twitter selling fake Wanna One tickets. The woman cut off all contact once buyers transferred money to her.
A total of 45 buyers were scammed and the woman made around 40 million KRW (37,140 USD). According to the police, the woman used the money for her own expenses. Her mother ended up paying back the entire 40 million KRW to the scammed buyers.
The court stated, "The woman created victims throughout the 2 month period with her consistent crime and the victims received great mental harm as the cost was high. However, the sentence was decided based on how she seems to be reflecting on her action and her mother paid back the scammed amount."
