The battle for the center position took place on this week's 'Produce 48'.
On the June 29 episode, the 14 'A' rank trainees competed for the center of the third ever "Pick Me" performance. They were requested to present a minute long, self-created performance to the theme song.
The top two nominees for the position ended up being After School member and Pledis Entertainment trainee Kaeun, and HKB48's Sakura Miyawaki.
After seeing their performances, the fellow trainees put in their votes for the center position. Sakura Miyawaki gained more votes and was announced the winner.
Sakura Miyawaki shed tears, and said to Kaeun, "I'm sorry. You did better but I got the center." Kaeun cheered on Sakura, saying, "Don't be sorry. You can do it. Hwaiting."
