In an interview with OSEN on January 15, Wooyoung revealed that it'll take some time for 2PM to have full group promotions. He stated, "I think a long time will be needed (for full group promotions) since we have military enlistments. I think it'll take at least 4-5 years. I plan to enlist sometime in the second half this year. I've wanted to experience military service early. I'm curious about what makes a South Korean man. I felt like I've been excluded and isn't completely a Korean man. I also feel young when I listened to stories by the people who've served."

When asked if fellow member Taecyeon shared any tips on military enlistment, Wooyoung replied, "Taecyeon is exceptionally good at adjusting. I think he has become more like himself. He's very Taecyeon-like right now. He doesn't seem like a celebrity when he comes out for a break. He seems like a person born for the military. He suits well with the system."
As for his personal plans prior to military enlistment, Wooyoung commented, "I will need permission from my agency, but this year, I would like to focus on promotions in Korea if I release albums. I want to do variety shows and radios. I also want to do something fun with JYP hoobaes."
