One Indonesian fan has survived a suicide attempt after recent news of the late SHINee member Jonghyun's passing.
According to Indonesian news outlet Tribune News, the fan posted on Twitter: "I can't endure it anymore. Mom, dad, Jonghyun oppa, we'll meet really soon." She previously also wrote, "Should I give up my life for now since I lost both of my parents and my idol? It's stressing me out."

Afterward, she was found collapsed after overdosing on medication and was transported to a hospital. As of December 19, she has recovered consciousness, and according to Indonesian fan accounts, she's regretting her attempt. She thanked fellow fans for worrying about her, and she's since deleted her social media account.
Media reports are expressing concern for a possible Werther effect, which is a spike of copycat suicides after a widely publicized suicide makes headlines, and they're encouraging fellow fans and netizens to remain aware and share positive messages.
