In an exclusive interview with Sports Chosun, when asked if he ever felt discomfort by the 'idol' bias, D.O. mentioned, "Honestly, it's not easy to juggle singing and acting careers all at the same time. t takes up a great deal of time and delicacy to pluck up one's courage and become fully immersed in a particular character as an actor. With that being said, I can understand that people may often say 'it's because he's an idol' if they aren't entirely pleased with his/her performance. It's true that I'm a singer-turned-actor and I'm still promoting as a singer so I think the stereotypes (against me) are definitely understandable."

D.O. continued, "However, I don't want to be shaken by such remarks, instead I would like to focus on where I am at now and do my best in both areas." And said, "Whenever I start on a new project I tell myself, 'This is only the beginning.' I feel like I still have a lot to learn and a long way to go. I believe the most important thing is to show that you're trying your best."
When asked what his strengths were, the EXO member responded,"I don't really quite know yet (laughs). I'm just really happy being on set and working with great people."
Meanwhile, D.O.'s next feature film 'With God' is scheduled to hit theaters on December 20.
