Wanna One's choreographer Choi Young Joon personally responded to accusations that the group's choreography for "Beautiful" was plagiarized from BTS' choreography for their own track of the same name.
YMC Entertainment previously denied the accusations, explaining the choreography was inspired by the movie 'Beauty and the Beast' and they were unaware of "Beautiful" by BTS. On November 14, Choi Young Joon further stated through the label, "I received the request to create choreography for Wanna One's 'Beautiful', and when I heard it, I thought of a man and woman dancing together."
He continued, "I created the moves using ballroom dancing and figure skating couples as inspiration. When I first received the track, it was titled 'Beauty and the Beast' for security reasons. That made me think of a beauty and beast happily dancing even more."
