The recording was carried out under strict surveillance, with no information on what kind of performance the group put together. 

Shortly after the report, a representative from Big Hit Entertainment stepped up to confirm, "It's true that they recorded for 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2018'."
