How much do plain, normal families who end up appearing on 'Give Me a Meal' receive for their participation?
As you all know, 'Give Me a Meal' consists of MCs Kang Ho Dong and Lee Kyung Kyu going around neighborhoods in Seoul, knocking on the doors of normal households to ask for a meal. Often times, the MCs are joined by idol/celebrity guests.
One netizen asked the question of how much non-celebrity families who end up appearing on the program to serve the show's cast out of the goodness of their hearts, receive as a gratuity fee. According to one account, the gratuity fee is 300,000 KRW (~ $260) in gift certificates, plus a framed and signed 'Give Me a Meal' poster.
After seeing the response, many netizens agreed that the fee was "enough, since people don't think about doing it to receive money, and make the decision to appear on TV and reveal their homes on TV themselves."
Would you ever invite Kang Ho Dong and Lee Kyung Kyu in for a meal?
