Kim and A started dating in 2012 but came to split up when Kim was trialed for running a scam in January 2016. Then in September of 2016, Kim threatened to upload sex tapes of A on her son's elementary school website. He also threatened A to come to his house and forced her to have sexual intercourse.

It's revealed that Kim secretly filmed a total of 8 sex tapes from June 2012 to February 2015. A was unaware of the recordings. 

On August 3, the Supreme Court of Korea ruled that "Filming without consent and threatening with sexual violence are deemed severe crimes. It's also in fair judgment to find him guilty of rape."

Ultimately, Kim has been sentenced to 3 years and 10 months in prison and 40 hours of sexual assault treatment program for sexual violence, violation of consent law, and more.
