Kim Jong Kook revealed he actually hated the group name Turbo.

On the August 2nd episode of 'Weekly Idol', Kim Jong Kook, Kim Jung Nam, and Mikey of Turbo celebrated their 23rd year since their debut. They introduced themselves, saying, "We're an engine that never stops. Do you know why Turbo is called Turbo?"
He continued, "At first, when they called it Turbo, I was so embarrassed. The producer's car at the time was a turbo model, and that's how he named us."
Turbo debuted in 1995 with their album '280Km SPEED' and recently came back with "Hot Sugar".
