According to reports on July 21, Dongwan donated an amount of 46,000,000 KRW (approximately 40,000 USD) to the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation's single mothers program, after learning that funds for homes of single mothers have been cut back in recent years. 

Last year, Dongwan also donated to help children from low-income families through the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation. In previous years, Dongwan has often given to countless charities and causes, including aid for disasters like the Sichuan Earthquake, Typhoon Haiyan, and the Nepal Earthquake, as well as welfare facilities for former comfort women, and more.

Dongwan is currently a part of ongoing musical 'Edgar Allen Poe'.
