Jung Joon Young explained that women tend to feel overwhelmed when they are in relatioships with him, saying, "I determined that I shouldn't do relationships anymore. When I'm in relationships, I think I'm going to treat [the girl] badly again, and once we break up after some time, I feel like I'm going to feel regretful and apologetic. I didn't like that vicious cycle."
When a student asked him, "When do you think about your ex the most?" Jung Joon Young replied, "I thought of her as I was talking, and I think of her listening to the songs I wrote which were inspired by her."
