Unfortunate news for fans who attended 'KCON France 2016' to see IOI on June 2.
Through IOI's official fan cafe, YMC Entertainment has relayed news that Jeon So Mi was unable to stand with IOI on stage for the event, due to her minor status. The notice from the label read as follows:
Hello. This is YMC Entertainment.
Please understand that we must deliver unfortunate news to everyone's anticipation for KCON France 2016.
Jeon So Mi was unable to stand on stage with IOI, as she was unapproved for KCON France 2016. We deliver Mnet's stance regarding the matter.
We [Mnet] cast IOI so that they could join the first ever KCON in Europe. We did our best to seek approval for Jeon So Mi to work at age 15, but due to time constraints, we were denied.
Jeon So Mi is also greatly disappointed that she was unable to greet her fans due to the issue, but is awaiting the next opportunity when the entirety of IOI can greet their French fans.
We're likely disappointed and sorry, that although we did our best, fans who waited to see the 11 members of IOI were let down. We will make it up to you with a better opportunity in the future.
The legal working age in France is 16 years old, but Jeon So Mi, being 15 years old in international age, was unable to receive proper work approval in time to stand on stage with the rest of the IOI members.
We hope fans still enjoyed IOI's performance at 'KCON France 2016'!
